Galle Face Green

Kelaniya Temple of Sri Lanka

Situated at a distance of 8 KM from Colombo, Kelaniya is a popular Buddhist temple positioned on the Kelani River. It is said that the Buddha visited Kelaniya to suppress a fight between two Naga leaders. The temple became popular due to its beautiful paintings and sculptures.

Dehiwala Zoo

Spread over 11 acres of beautifully landscaped area, Dehiwala zoological garden is a must visit tourist attraction of Colombo. The garden was opened by a German business family in the year of 1926. In year 1930, the Sri Lankan government acquired this garden and it improved further as a tourist. Dehiwala Zoo is home to various species of animals including mammals, birds, reptiles and fish species. You can enjoy here an evening elephant show, at 5.15 PM every day.

Bere Lake

Situated in the heart of Colombo, Bere Lake is a beautiful tourist spot that is surrounded with green tree line. This lake was built by Portuguese and connected with several water ways to serve their purpose of transportation needs. Water level of this lake is 1 meter higher than the ocean.
